Lawrence “Larry” Charles Black, 74, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021. He was born March 14, 1947 the son of Lawrence Hubert Black and Jeanette Helen Marksberry. Lawrence was an Army Veteran in the Vietnam War and lifetime member of holy Family Catholic Church. He worked as a welder for Jeff Boat and Robert Mattingly & Sons Construction Company. He volunteered for the American Red Cross and loved to recreationally shoot guns. Lawrence was an avid horse rider and for many years would go on the Old Capital Saddle Club Trail Ride.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Christopher J. Black.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Black, one daughter, Beth Osborne (Michael), two grandchildren: Molly and Norah Osborne, one brother, Gerald Black, and many cousins.
Funeral service will be 10 AM, Friday, October 8, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church (3938 Poplar Level Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40213).
Visitation will be Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 4 PM until 7 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home (4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218).
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
The family suggest memorial gift be made to American Red Cross or Holy Family Catholic Church.
