Lawrence Edward Morrison

Lawrence Edward Morrison (Larry) was born in Weston, WV on March 20, 1950. He was the son of Lawrence Junior Morrison and Geraldine Grace Pratt Morrison. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to upstate New York where they settled in Basom, NY. Growing up, Larry played many sports including football, baseball, and track. He was also a skilled trumpet player and played in the school band. After graduating from high school, he went on to attend Clarkson University where he obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering as well as earning a teaching credential from The State University of New York at Potsdam.

Professionally, Lawrence had a very successful career as a Chemical Engineer in the industrial plastics field. He held several positions including sales, marketing, operations and many Director and V.P. titles. Through the course of Larry’s career, his travels took him across the country and around the world including Europe, South America, and Asia. Along the way, Larry made many lifelong friends through his work and travels and considered them as part of the family.

Personally, he met the love of his life in 1978 by chance and then for a second time in 1980. They were married in 1981 and welcomed their first child, a daughter, Kristi in 1984. They welcomed sons Larry in 1985 and Michael in 1988. In his free time, Lawrence loved to play golf, go to restaurants and keep up with politics.

Lawrence is survived by his wife Vicki Lynn Smith Morrison, and their three children Kristi Nicole Morrison Moghaddam and her husband Ehsan, Lawrence Edward Morrison Jr, and his bird Ollie and Michael Thomas Morrison. He loved and was loved by his grandchildren: Nicholas Aria Moghaddam, Cru Lawrence Morrison, Emily Rose Moghaddam and Mia Anne Morrison. Lawrence is also survived by his younger brother Gary Dallas Morrison, Aunt Opal Olive Pratt and many loved cousins, nieces and nephews

A visitation for Lawrence will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven.
