

Born June 17th 1943 to Dorothy and Leo Zurkuhlen Sr, passed away at home January 19,2025 surrounded by his family.
Leo was a loving, faithful and so very devoted husband to the most devoted wife of 58 years, Kathleen Zurkuhlen.. he was called dad, brother, papa, uncle buck, hero, legend and THE man! But was most proud of being called Dad and Papa to Leo III, Robert (Donna) Angie, chris (Courtney), Mary and Michael (Amber) his grandkids; Robby, Ryan(Morgan), Kelsey(Bryce), Colton(Paige), Cecelia, Caleb, Chance,Kylie, Alex(Hannah) Chevy, Ava, Fallon, Gavin, Kaylee and Abbey and his great grandkids Leighland,Blakely, Walker and Willow.

A retired devoted employee of DuPont for 35 years. Leo also served several years in the National Guard and was active in keeping the peace, which is what he always did, at the riots in Louisville in the 60’s
He was the man that could do anything and the best storyteller that has ever existed. He will be sorely missed by his wife and children and grandkids, but also by his brothers and sisters; Joanie(joe), paula(Tom), ann(Rex), Agnes,marybeth(Fred) Greg and Rich(Minnie)his in-laws Bob(Donna) Marilyn, Dave, Dennis and his best friend of over 50 years, Tom Bach.
He will be welcomed with open arms in heaven by his loving parents, Leo and Dorothy, and his mother and father in law, Palmer and Mary, sister and brother in law Carolyn and Dave, Tim, Brother Ed, Patty and Connie.
A celebration of his beautiful life will be Friday February 7 from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Arch Heady 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville with a Mass following on Saturday, February 8th 10:00 AM at St Bernard Catholic Parish.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Bernard Catholic Parish.
