She was a native of Edmonson County and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Leona retired from GE and was a member of the Eastern Star. She loved to dance and spent every weekend doing just that.
She is preceded in death by her parents Nick and Ermie Hughes, as well as her beloved husband James T. Bland, along with her daughters Patricia Bland Miller, Peggi L. Parks, and one granddaughter Stephanie Miller.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, James Bland Jr. and Michael Bland, as well as her son-in-law Steve Parks. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Shelli Thompson (Danny), Jessica Miller, Sabrina Roeder, and William Bland, her great-grandchildren; Duston L. Kirby (Sarah), James Lee Bland, and Anthony Bland, and great-great grandchildren; Hunter and Sofia Kirby.
A visitation for Leona will be held Monday, May 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218 followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Leona will be laid to rest privately within Resthaven Memorial Park.
