Linda Lucille Gregory

Linda Lucille Gregory, 70, of Louisville, passed away March 21, 2015. She was born August 22, 1944 in Louisville, to the late John "Jack" Johnsey, Sr. and Lucille Hood. Linda was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Most of her working years were spent as a psychiatric nurse and she was published in the Journal of Psychiatric Nursing. After retirement, she spent most of her time doing volunteer work at the Home of the Innocents, Dare to Care Food Pantry, Kentucky Harvest, The Lupus Foundation of Kentuckiana, and Grethel Kentucky's Mudd Creek Clinic(Eula Hall Clinic). Linda most enjoyed volunteering for the Jefferson County Public Schools library where she was known as "The Book Doctor". For several years Linda was on the board of directors of Metropolitan Community Church of Louisville and the Highlands Community Ministries. She was also a Kentucky Colonel. She was preceded in death by her devoted partner of 25 years, Fran Farley. Survivors include her son, Kevin Gregory, Sr.(Debbie); dedicated daughter, Theresa Mayer(Jimmy); grandson, Kevin Gregory, Jr.(Christina); great-granddaughters, McKenna and Kinley; several nieces and nephews; and her many extended family members of the June clan. A Celebration of Life Service to honor Linda will be conducted at 2pm Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Evergreen Funeral Home with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8pm Tuesday and from 12pm until service time Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to her church, Metropolitan Community Church of Louisville.
