

Loretta retired from Hilliard Lyons in June 2001. She previously was employed at United Mercantile, and Kentucky Home Mutual Life Insurance as Manager of the Claims Department. She additionally worked as a typist for a court reporter in Louisville.
Loretta was an avid reader and crossword puzzle expert. She loved music, especially Bluegrass and the compositions of John Barry. She traveled with her sisters and her family on many memorable vacations across all the states but Alaska and to the British Isles. Loretta loved sports, starting as a cheerleader at Grayson County High School and then spending the following 60 years watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in every sport they showed an interest in. She was also a Kentucky Colonels basketball fan, a follower of professional golf, and a season ticket holder for the Lady Cardinals basketball team. She was deeply involved in church activities and loved going to the YMCA to socialize and get exercise. Loretta was a loving, devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who had the great fortune to know her.
Loretta is preceded in death by sisters Jessie Mildred Wilkins, Ersie Imogene Rennirt, Nora Irene Smith, Meneda Christine Garr, Iva Marvadeen Lowe, and brothers Hobart Marcel Wilkins, Fred Marlin Wilkins and Charles Wondo Wilkins. She is survived by her sister Sharlet LaVerne Ashley.
Loretta is survived by her daughters Maria Priddy (Dennis), Caroline Anderson (Joe) and Laura Ryan (Tina Ward Pugh), 3 grandchildren Lauren Priddy Mcfarland (Andrew), Jessica Hendrix Perry (Chad) and Adam Kyle Priddy (Taylor) and 5 great grandchildren Oakley Gavin Dunn(Brandi), Preston Hendrix Dunn(Makayla), Aiden Carter Mcfarland, Amelia Lauren Mcfarland and Winnie Layne Carpenter. Also surviving Loretta are nieces Cheryl Garr Sidebottom, Kim Ashley Cannon, Alicia Ashley Hayes, nephews, Richard E Garr, Jr., Aaron T. Rennirt, Marlon Rennirt, Kerry Lowe and Kevin Lowe. Loretta is predeceased by her nephews Ronald Edward Rennirt and Lowell Kenneth Rennirt and nieces Judith Rose Rennirt and Linda Janell Lowe Price.
Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
Ms. Hodges will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
