He was predeceased by his parents Louis and Allene and son Glynn Douglas, sisters, Joyce, Pat and Sharon.
He retired after 47 years from the Illinois Central/ Paducah Louisville Railway. Louis served in the US Navy and the Kentucky National Guard. He was Masonic Lodge 638, Masonic Past Master Society and a member of the American Legion Post 90.
Louis is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda J. Rickert. He is also survived by his three daughters, Tami Renee Decker, Cindy Louise Dusko (Steve), Cynthia Denise Adams (Doug), a son Jeffery R. Rickert, brother, Charles Ronald Rickert (Sharon), sister Marsha K. Summit, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and dog Sassy.
A funeral to celebrate Louis’ life will be conducted at noon on Thursday, July 17, 2014 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Guests are invited to attend a visitation which will be held July 16, from 3-8 pm and after 9am the day of the funeral.
