He is preceded in death by his mother, Golda Thomas.
Lowell is survived by his loving wife of 47 years of marriage, Betty; His three children; Vicki Thomas-Rice (Greg), Johnnie Thomas (Kathy) and Robin Thomas; His grandchildren Robert Schultz, Genilee Schultz and Michael Thomas; Great-Grandchildren Leah and Kahli; Along with his long time best friends, Clarence Summers, Steve Foster and Suzie Sweitzer.
Visitation for Lowell will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218. A celebration of Lowell’s life will be on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 12:00pm in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd.
