She was a member and Worthy Matron of the Middletown Chapter 319 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a Naval Ordiance employee and retired from the Air National Guard.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Hugh and Ann Acton.
Carol is survived by her children: Robin L. Shacklette and Kevin S. House, sister; Dot Stichweh (Jim) and brother; James Acton. She is also survived by two grandchildren; Amanda Grubbs and Rebecca Myers.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 12 noon Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 3-8 pm Tuesday, February 21, 2012.
