Marie Bratcher Whitaker, 73, of Louisville passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015. She was born January 5, 1942 in Fulton KY to the late Lewis and Edith Lambert Bratcher Jr. Marie received her Master’s in Education and taught Kindergarten / 1st grade in Louisville, Alaska and overseas in Germany. She was a member of Beuchel Park Baptist Church but most importantly a wonderful mother and grand mommy to her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Pamela Jane Bratcher.
Marie is survived by her two daughters; Angela Whitaker and Sarah White (Joel), grandchildren; Katie, Abbie, Riley and Ella, a brother, Lewis M. Bratcher III, a niece, Emily Berriochoa and a nephew, Malen Bratcher.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 2:00 pm in Arch L Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road with a private inurnment in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
