Growing up, I always knew I had the best daddy in the world. You listened when that’s what I needed, gave advice when you knew I needed help and guidance and gently put me in my place if I’d gone too far and was getting a little too big for my britches. I can’t think of a single moment when you weren’t proud of me and I want you to know that I’ve always been so proud of you. I was always in awe of how people gravitated toward you and your smile, how the intensity and sadness in a room could instantly go away when you walked in. And you’re still doing that today! I hope you can feel all the love surrounding you! Thank you for all the love you’ve given over the years, for being the best daddy and papaw we could ever ask for. I can’t stop replaying all these memories of us fishing together, working on cars, playing four-square in the kitchen, you coaching all of our teams in softball, you teaching me how to play so many sports, the first time we went to Cocoa Beach, King’s Island, Yogi Bear Park, literally just an endless parade of memories in my head. Thank you for all of that daddy. Thank you for being strong for all of us. I love you, always have and always will! You’re the best Daddy!!

From the first ballgame Russell brought me to, this entire family, but especially Mark, welcomed me with open arms.  I am honored to have met Mark and spend time with him and his family.  May his memory keep you and hold you until you see him again.

Hey pawpaw, I love you sooooooo much you’re the best pawpaw ever. I wish I could spend one more minute with you. You were such a good person and always made me smile. Every time We went to see you it would make my day. I loved bowling with you because you were always the best one there. I guess you’re just the best at everything. You inspire me to play sports like basketball because I heard you were great at it. When we walked in the park it was so fun because you were there laughing and smiling. Make sure to give us signals while your in heaven. Make sure when your doing good things and powerful things up there to make rain storms and lightning to show us you’re  there. Tell our family up in heaven that we say we love y’all. I thank you a lot for everything that you have done to make our family great. I love you a lot pawpaw.

To my dad, my hero,  best friend and the first man I ever loved, you will always be with me in my heart and soul. I can never express the gratitude for the love and wisdom you’ve  given me over the years. You are the person I hope to become and I hope I’ve made you proud. Thank you for the days you listened and didn’t have to say a word. Thank you for the dad you were and always will be. And thank you for being the best popaw I could have ever asked for. You have touched some many lives and I hope you look down in these next few days and see the difference you’ve made in this world. I will love you always and I’ll see you when I get up there. Unfortunately, I never had the honor of meeting Mr. Veatch, but from what I've read, and being able to count his daughter Chastity as one of my friends and knowing the type of person she is, these are indicators that I sorrowfully missed out, not knowing Mr. Veatch is truly a loss for me. My condolences to his family,  with prayers of comfort and sympathy.
