Martin LeRoy McAlister Jr., age 92, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Martin was born on September 19, 1931 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to the late Martin LeRoy McAlister, Sr. and Leona McAlister.
He is preceded in death by his son, Brent McAlister; his parents; one sister and four brothers.
Martin loved to garden, watch sports, especially cheering on the UK Wildcats. Martin's greatest joy was traveling. He traveled the US and Canada along side with his beloved wife, Frances. As well as traveling, Martin loved his family and friends, as he enjoyed spending time with them.
Left to cherish Martin's memory is his beloved wife of 69 years, Frances; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40213, with a service to honor the life of Martin to follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Martin will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
