Marvin retired from BB&T after 35 years and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was previously a director in the Derby Festival, a participant in Leadership Louisville, a volunteer for Citizens for Better Judges and the Convention Bureau of Louisville, and was a member of many other civic organizations.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Mildred Fisher.
He was the beloved husband of Candace Fisher, loving father of Paul Fisher (Lindsey) of Birmingham, AL, and adoring grandfather to Anna and Sara Fisher. He is also survived by a host of extended family and long time friends.
There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Hurstbourne Christian Church, 601 Nottingham Parkway. All friends and family are invited to attend the service. Anyone who would like to come earlier to visit with the family the church will be open at 10am. There will be a reception following. The family requests that attendees wear brightly colored clothing in celebration of Marvin’s life.
