Mary Phyllis Jamison, age 83 passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Mary was born in Loretto, Kentucky to the late Augustine "Gus" and Margie Smith. Her sisters; Julie (James) Bowling, Jeanette (Edwin "Ed") Greenwell, brother-in-law, Andrew Miller and sister-in-law, Mary Hagy Smith, also preceded Phyllis in passing.
Phyllis was a devout Catholic who instilled goodness and faith in many people. She had a strong work ethic, caring for and about everybody. Always trying to help as much as she could. Phyllis graduated from St. Francis High School in Loretto, Kentucky and then moved to Louisville, Kentucky where she began her accounting career and met the love of her life. She began working in the clerical department for Faucet Dearings, when she met Norman Jamison. Norman and Phyllis were married for sixty-three years and was blessed with two children. As members of St. Rita Catholic Church, Phyllis assisted with the bereavement meals for families who had lost loved ones. After Phyllis retired, her and Norman would travel to different places together. She loved to read her romance novels and play the slots.
Here to cherish her memory is her husband, Norman Jamison, son, Thomas A. Jamison (Cathy), daughter, Margie Jamison Coslett, sister, Margaret Ann Miller and brother, Johnny Smith.
A funeral mass for Phyllis will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40219.
Phyllis will be laid to rest privately within Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, Kentucky 40218.
