Mary Lynn Whitmer, 85 of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 with her family by her side. She was retired from Okolona Bowling Lanes where she worked as the desk clerk for more than 40 years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and enjoyed traveling, especially out west. She was also an avid Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan. She was preceded in passing by her husband of 39 years: Jesse Samuel Whitmer Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jesse S. Whitmer Jr. (Rose Marie), Donald E. Whitmer (Robin), Sharon J. Rodgers (Rick); grandchildren: Nicholas E. Whitmer, Jonathan S. Rodgers, Jessica L. Rodgers; her poodle companion Missy; and a host of many other family members and friends. Funeral services for Mary will be held Monday, January 16th, 2017 at 12pm in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Hwy. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, January 15th from 2-8pm at the funeral home.
