Mattie Patterson Sarver

She was born May 5, 1925 in Monroe County, Kentucky, to Neal and Ida May Patterson.

In addition to her parents, and 11 brothers and sisters, Mattie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Merrill C. and her oldest son, Ronnie Glen Sarver.

She was a dedicated lifelong homemaker, an avid reader and a conversationalist who never met a stranger and loved all children.

Left to share stories of her love and affection are her three children, Richard, Phyllis Sarver Webb (Alton), and Penny; and grandchildren, Amy Webb, Jon Webb (Angela), Lee Webb (Rachel), Lonnie Sarver, Lissa Sarver Rollins and Meghan Sarver Early (Sydney).

Mattie was not only a great loving mother to her children but a very proud great “Mamaw” to her 11 grandchildren and great, great “Mamaw” to a new granddaughter.

She was a life-long member of Southside Baptist Church, where she taught four-year old Sunday school for over 24 years, treating them weekly with Juicy Fruit and Fruit Stripe gum.

Her funeral service will be at 2 pm, June 29, 2016, at Arch L. Heady Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment following at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Visitation is Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 2-8pm, and Wednesday from 1pm until time of service, at the funeral home.
