

James Melvin "Mel" Craddock, 70, went to Heaven on Friday, November 15, 2013. Mel was born in Linwood, Kentucky on August 1, 1943. He moved to Louisville as a teenager but always remained a country boy at heart. Mel was a proud and loyal employee of Sealtest Dairy for 33 years and Deans Dairy for 11 years. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan and loved to walk with his great friends at the J-Mall walking club. Mel is preceded in death by his best friend, Judy Craddock-Rodgers; parents, Walter and Bertis Craddock. He is survived by his loving two daughters, Patricia Nehring (Greg), and Susan Tahaney; grandchildren, James Nicholas Tahaney, Zachary Elder, and Caroline Elder; brothers, Glenn Craddock (Wanda), and Larry Craddock (Karan), many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved greatly; and many loyal friends. The family of Mel would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Hosparus, Mercy Sacred Heart, and First Light of Kentucky, for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Life in honor of Mel will be held 2pm Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Evergreen Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 12 noon until time of service.
