She was the former Melba Alderson and a native of Clay, KY. Melba was a homemaker and a member at St. Bernard Catholic Church, and she was known to play her harmonica at any given time and treated people all around with her music.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis B. Holland.
Leaving to cherish and treasure her memory are her children, Mary Boyd, Bonnie Uebelhoer, Betty Loy, Bert (Vickie), Dan (Pat), George (Diane), John (Sherry) and Mike Holland; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 7501 Tangelo Drive, with interment in St. Louis Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Friday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road.
