Melissa L Curry

Melissa was an adventurous, beloved, and humorous presence in the lives of all who knew her. She was a graduate of Shawnee High School, class of 1987, and she spent 31 years working at Humana in the IT Department.

Melissa had many loves in her life: the outdoors and camping; spending time with her grandkids and teaching the girls how to cook and bake; traveling with her husband and family; riding around in her Yellow Jeep with the top down and singing; and taking the grandkids on walks through the woods. She always had her camera with her to capture every moment, and she especially enjoyed camping trips surrounded by family on the family land in Henry County. Melissa touched so many lives and was loved by so many.

Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Jack Smith; mother, Phyllis Smith; brothers, Melvin Smith and Jamie Smith; and stepson, Austin Curry.

Melissa leaves to cherish her memory her husband, John Curry; son, Sid Grider (Mandy); grandchildren, Sydney, Cashous, Jase, Callie, Mia, Sophie; stepdaughter, Bethany Craft (Danielle); grandson, Hayden Curry; daughter-in-law, Tristica Pickard Embry (Josh Godbey); grandkids, Layla Curry, Lynnsey Curry, Laynie Curry, Asher Godbey; brothers, Jackie Smith (Rhonda), Stuart Smith (Kathy); and sister, Micki Biszmaier (Marty).

Visitation will be 11–3pm, Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road Louisville, KY 40218.

Funeral service will be 3:00pm, Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road Louisville, KY 40218.
