Mike was born on June 7, 1954 and is preceded in death by his parents and his life partner, Mana Smith.
He is survived by his daughter Erica Bayens (Eric); grandchildren Damon and Blake Bayens; brother and sister-in-law Orville Ray and Kathy Wohlschlegel; niece Loretta Meyer and many living family members and friends.
Mike was a dedicated worker in his years. He worked for Mother’s Cookies for over 20 years, then moved onto work at Radial where he retired.
Mike enjoyed his years after retirement. He enjoyed hanging out with his brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Kathy, going to the racetrack to watch the horses, watching the Nascar races, took yearly trips to Las Vegas with Ray and gained a few more friends with Ray and Kathy. But what he loved most were his grandbabies, he was crazy about them. He enjoyed and loved watching them play all of the sports that they were involved in. The grandbabies were his life.
Guests are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 1pm-8pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, Ky. 40218.
Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
