Mitcheal Harold Murphy

Mitcheal H. Murphy 78, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021. He was born to the late Margaret and Raymond Murphy on April 2, 1942 in Newbern, North Carolina. Mitcheal proudly served his country in the US Army as a tank mechanic. The love for working on vehicles carried over into his personal life for many years. He retired from Sears and was also a Kentucky Colonel. Mitcheal was a band member for the Corydon Jamboree.

Along with his parents, Mitcheal was preceded in death by his brothers Lawrence Murphy and Chester Murphy (Earlene).

Mitcheal leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 59 years Verna “Lucy” Murphy, sons Michael Lee Murphy (Robin Cissell), Bruce Carnell Murphy (Carrie) and Andrew “Scotty” Murphy, grandchildren Melissa Brown, Kevin and Corey Murphy, Brandon Murphy, Zachary Murphy and Ashton Murphy, “bonus” grandchildren Roland Paar, Eric Paar, William Paar, Regina, Renee, and siblings Betty Jones and David Murphy (Jennie Lynn).

A service to honor the life of Mitcheal will be held Tuesday, March 16th at 12pm in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral home with entombment and military honors to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday, March 15th from 2-7pm in the funeral home and will resume Tuesday from 10am until the start of the funeral service.
