He was a retired diesel mechanic and loved building models and watching sci-fi movies, especially, Jurassic Park.
Morris is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Myrtle Burris; and his brother, Don Burris.
Carrying on Morris' legacy is his only child, Jennifer Burris; siblings, Sue Wood (Larry) and Jerry Burris (Phyllis); goddaughter, Hope Hoskins (Kevin), as well as several nieces and a nephew.
Everyone who met Morris, just adored him. He had his father's cute smile and never complained. He was the family favorite by far, especially with his nieces. His goddaughter is still waiting for the Trans Am he promised her for her 16th birthday. Morris would have given you the shirt off his back. He loved to build models and give them away to his nephew. He was even known to have the coolest cars in town. Even while battling cancer and dementia, he never once complained of anything. All the nurses that ever cared for him referred to him as a sweetheart.
A memorial visitation for Morris will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 12 noon until 4 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40213. A scattering celebration will be held at a later date in Cave Hill Cemetery Scattering Garden with a butterfly placed on a monument in his name.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
