She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Vanessa Travis, and her sister, Joan A. Ausnow.
Nancy and her husband, Charles, were married for 59 years and together enjoyed square dancing as part of Cardinal Twirlers. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Parish and Beta Sigma Phi. Nancy was an Elementary Instructional Assistant at JCPS and enjoyed tutoring children in reading. Above all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Charlie L.; her children, Jeffrey W. (fiancée Brenda Ward) and Lynette C. Heil (Clifford); grandchildren, Lauren M. Heil (Josh Cothern), Amanda L. Heil, Paige N. Ward and Blake A. Ward; brother, Joseph W. Travis (Marilyn); sister, Barbara June Helton and brother in-law, Robert W. Ausnow.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2017 at St Bartholomew Church, 2042 Buechel Bank Road, followed by interment at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road.
