Norma Jo Schell

She was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, retired from Capitol Holding Corporation, where she worked in the Accounting Department, a University of Kentucky Athletic Donor, University of Louisville Athletic Donor, a member of the Humane Society, and Disney World Vacation Club.

Survivors include her loving husband William Patrick Schell Sr.; son William Patrick Schell Jr.; daughter Johanna Underwood (Brad), and stepbrother, Dwight Morris (Marsha).

"Jody" is a graduate of Durrett High School, Class of '64. Many of her closest friends, today, she has known since her days at Durrrett and before.

But, what she will best be remembered for is what an amazing grandmother she was. Her three surviving granddaughters, Hallie (10), Mills (8), and Eva (5) will miss her very much, however, they are grateful for being able to have her in their lives and the opportunity to feel her love for them.

Jody took the girls and her family and friends to Disney World often. She used to say that she was happiest with her favorite people in her favorite place.

Kentucky basketball was also a huge passion of hers. In addition to "away games", she and Pat traveled the World.

At home, Jody enjoyed sitting on her patio and spent many hours reminiscing and enjoying her flowers and plants with her husband. In lieu of funeral bouquets, a donation to the National Kidney Foundation of Kentucky, 250 East Liberty Street, Suite 710, Louisville, KY 40202 or a hanging basket/outdoor plant for her patio and back yard will be appreciated and admired by her family and friends.

Mrs. Schell's funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 1p.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Hwy. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation: Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Okolona.
