Norman F. Schmitz, aged 90, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025. Born on July 24, 1934, to the late Frank and Evelyn Schmitz, he was a beacon of kindness and love throughout his life. Norman was preceded in death by his brother, Louis Schmitz.
A devoted family man, Norman leaves behind his beloved wife Reba Ann Schmitz; his son Alan Schmitz and wife Carol; daughters Denise and her husband Rico, and Diane with her husband David; stepson Rusty O’Bryant; stepdaughter Kathleen O’Bryant; along with five cherished grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren who will carry on his legacy of warmth and compassion.
An esteemed Navy veteran and a proud graduate of St Xavier, Norman was a respected mason by trade. His commitment to community shone brightly through his lifetime membership with the Knights of Columbus #2761. Norman's gentle spirit and loving nature will be profoundly missed by all who knew him
A visitation for Norman will be held Monday, April 14, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM
