Philip Wayne Thornton, age 69, died July 11, 2018 in Nashville, TN. He was retired Flood Protection Supervisor for MSD. He was also an Army combat Veteran of the Vietnam War. Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Dorothy Thornton; brothers Henry E. (Sonny) Thornton and Joseph E. Thornton; and his brother-in-law Gary D. Collins. He is survived by his sister, Sharon J. Collins; five nephews and one niece. Visitation will be from 3-8:00 on Wed. Aug, 1st and again Thurs. Aug. 2nd from 11-12 with services to follow at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Phil has requested in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to The Disabled American Veterans or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
