Rebecca "Becky" Kerney Bush

Rebecca Kerney Bush died on Tuesday, July 4th of natural causes. Becky was born in Morganfield, Kentucky, on February 24, 1929. She grew up with a keen sense of personal and social responsibility. At Centre College, she met Mr. Leigh Bush, Jr., and began a lifetime of dedication to him and to the family they raised. Becky and Leigh were married for 61 years prior to his death in 2010. Throughout her married life, Becky was totally dedicated to Leigh and to their two children, Julie Bush Ransdell and Harry Leigh Bush Ill. The Bush family enjoyed living in the Westport area and in Crestwood, and attended Methodist and Presbyterian churches in both communities. Becky worked for many years as a real estate agent when she wasn't looking after the needs of her family. Beck, as she was known to her grandchildren, was always the first to laugh and enjoy whatever was occurring in the lives of her family. She is survived by daughter Julie Ransdell and her husband, Gary, and their two sons, Patrick and Matthew along with their wives, Brooke and Sandra, and two great-grandchildren, Walker Leigh, and Collins Ann; and by son Harry Leigh Bush and his wife, Elaine, and their children, Brian and Jennifer Massey and Brian’s wife Tiffany, Michael and Johnny Bush and great grandchild, Vivien Massey.

Visitation for Becky will be from 3-7 PM on Friday, July 7th at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd, Louisville, KY 40222. Interment will take place at the Chandler Chapel Memorial on the WKU campus in Bowling Green, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics KY or KY Humane Society.
