Richard Lee Wright

Born Saturday, January 31, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky Richard was the son of Jewell Sparks. Richard served our nation with pride and honor in the United States Army. He was a member of the DAV and the National American Legion. He was an avid firearms collector and loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his grandchildren. Richard lived a full life, a life – well – lived!

His mother, Jewell Sparks – Wright; & siblings, Clare Coggschell, William “Bill” Edward Wright, Mary Alice Wright & Norman Ray Wright, precede Richard in his passing.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Betty Lee Wright; children, Carolyn Fancher, Dixie Wright, Dorothy Wright, Noel (Rachael) Wright & Richard Lee Wright, II; several grandchildren, great – grandchildren; sister, Juanita Renfro; plus, a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. with Military Honors to follow. Richard will be laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums.
