Rita Mae Demyan

Rita was born in Marion County, KY, on April 3, 1933, to William Forrest and Margaret Spalding Luckett. She married Edward Otto Demyan in 1959, who preceded her in death in 2020.

Rita is survived by two sons, Mark (Julie) and Eric (Melissa); four grandchildren, Alex (Bianca), Nicholas (Ashley), Mitchell, and Lindsay; one great-grandchild, Reece Alexander; brother, Robert Luckett (Ursula); sister-in-law, Wahseka Luckett; brother-in-law, Mike Kanan; and sister-in-law, Janet Demyan.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Evelyn Schilling (Wally), Spalding Luckett (Evelyn Marie), Mary George Cody (James Daniel), William F. Luckett Jr., Frances Marie Luckett, Cecelia Ballard (Ignatius), Joseph Luckett (Arva), Elizabeth Kanan, and Audrey Luckett.

Rita loved spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, and travelling.

The family would like to thank the staff at Avista Senior Living, Yuma, AZ, for the years of care they provided.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm, at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home - 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40220. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church - 7813 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40222. Rita will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery following Mass on Saturday.
