He was a graduate of St. X and the University of Louisville, a World War II Veteran serving in the Army Aircorp as Bombardier. During the late 1950's he was the hospital administrator at Central State Hospital. He then worked for the Department of Human Resources until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cherie Scherzinger Funk; brothers, John and Kenneth; sisters, Fran Farrier and Rosemary Forst.
He is survived by his daughters, Debra (Skip) Davis and Robin Funk-Ware; and many special nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the staff of Parr’s Personal Care Home and to Les Hornback, his dear friend.
A celebration of his life will be conducted Saturday April 23, 2011 at 2 pm at Arch L. Heady & Son, 7410 Westport Road with private burial in Floydsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-2 on Saturday at the funeral home.
