Robert "Bob" E. Henry Jr.

It is with deep sorrow and love that we mourn the passing of Robert (Bob) E. Henry, Jr. at the age of 89. Bob died at his home on Saturday, June 3, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: John (Debbie), Kevin (Annette) and Kim, grandchildren: Kendra (Eric), Shanna (Steve), Brad (Stephanie) and Rob (Kate), Great grandchildren: Hannah, Layla, Griffin and Winnie, his sister, Jeanie Russ and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Helen Henry, parents, Edna May and Robert Ernst Henry, Sr., grandson, John Henry, Jr. and sister Betty Ann Allgeier. Bob received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy in 1960, and then after 33 years at the Kroger Company, retired as a transportation driver.

Bob will be remembered for many things, his love of farming and gardening at his farm in Spencer County, his years as a mall walker, his enjoyment of a good card game, and the occasional stiff drink. He loved watching sports and reading the paper daily.

His strength was undeniable, in all forms. He was a devoted husband, spending many years taking care of his soulmate, Helen, and those lucky enough to spend time with him, never left without a smile on their face. He had a wry sense of humor and enjoyed teasing those closest to him.

Bob requested no visitation. The family will have a private graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Hosparus Health.
