

Robert (Bob) Olinick Sr., 83 years; passed away on February 14th, 2025; surrounding by his family. He has been married to Susan Elaine Olinick for the past 60 years. A marriage that has spanned the test of time with true love and respect for one another.
Bob grew up in Louisville, KY: and was the son of parents Walter J. and Louise Olinick. He attended St.Rita Grade School, St. Xavier High School and Southern High School where he graduated in 1959. He finished his career working for Orr Safety Corporation as a Senior Sales Associate until he retired.
Bob also served in the United States National Guard.
He and his wife Susan were members of St. Athanasius parish for the previous 60 years. Bob’s enjoyment in life came from his family, friends and loved ones. He had a great passion for hunting, fishing and the outdoors; and shared those opportunities and experiences with family and friends. He further had a true passion for sports; in particularly his Kentucky Wildcats; and was once a very gifted athlete himself. His love and sacrifice for family and friends are the true legacies that will never be forgotten. A kind, gentle, respectful man; that would give anything he owned or he had to help a friend.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Louise Olinick, his sister Louise "Peach" Young, his sister Ruth "Sis" Jones, his sister Catherine "Cass" Bryant, and brother Walter Olinick.
He is survived by his wife Susan, son Bobby and wife Diane, daughter Debbie, grandchildren Kyle Olinick (Fallon), Joshua Olinick, Kristen Olinick, great grandchild Rhett Olinick, and his sister Maryann.
Visitation will be held at Arch L. Heady – Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road; Louisville, KY; on Tuesday, February 18th from 11:00 am – 2:00 p.m., with funeral services scheduled at 2:30 p.m. at the Resthaven Chapel on site. A reception with be held immediately following the funeral service at Resthaven with food and drink, just as Bob would want. Family gathering and celebrating a life well lived, and loving on each other.
In lieu of flowers donations in Bob's honor can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
