He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Proffitt.
He is survived by his daughter, Ellen Proffitt (Lawrence Lucarelli), sons, William Proffitt and Robert Glenn Proffitt, brother, Coleman Profitt, sister Frances Francis, grandchildren, Nicholas Vanleuvan, Tiffany Vanleuvan, Amanda Fink and Richard Fink III and 2 great-grandchildren, Alkeylah Fink and Aaron and Michael Vanleuvan.
Services will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday at O. D. White & Sons Funeral Home with interment at Paint Lick Cemetery in Paint Lick, KY.
Visitation will be 11 AM-12 Noon at the funeral home.
