Robert Leon Young

Robert “Bob” Leon Young, 84, passed away on April 2, 2026. He was born on January 23, 1942, to Robert and Mary Alice Young in Springfield, Kentucky. Bob was a faithful member of St. Lawerence Catholic Church in Louisville where he served as a member of the parish council, and at one time, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was known to be a hard worker, having worked for United Catalyst Inc. for many years before their name was changed to ZEO Chem. He was a handyman, always had tools nearby, and could fix anything. His family remembers him as a jack of all trades. He will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Lou Mattingly.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 63 years, Barbara J. Young; his son Robert Allen Young (JoAnn); his daughter, Karen Sims (Dewayne); his son, John Paul Young (Adrianna); his son, Doug Young (Angie); his son, Ricky Young (Trisha); his brother, Jimmy Young (Teresa Jane); his sister, Rose Marie Young; his sister Mary Ann Young; his brother, Joseph William Young (Rita); 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held for Bob at Evergreen Funeral Home on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 10:00AM to 3:00PM with a funeral service to follow beginning at 3:00PM. His final resting place will be Evergreen Cemetery.
