

Ron graduated from Manual High School in 1960 and was a proud member of the 1959 State Champion Football Team. His early achievements set the stage for a life dedicated to service and excellence.
He served in the Air Force as a member of the Air Commandos, where he was awarded the bronze star and purple heart for his bravery and dedication. After his military service, Ronald retired from the City of Louisville Police Department, where he was the lead evidence technician and an instructor at the Southern Police Institute. He later continued his career as the Director of loss prevention at the Seelbach Hotel.
Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty, and his brother, Danny Parkerson. He is survived by his sons, Jim (Annette) Parkerson and John (Monica Howard) Parkerson, as well as his cherished granddaughters, Sara and Laura. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Luna, and dear friends, Ronnie, Ernie, Klaus, Janet, Sandra, and Betty.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Ron was a Kentucky Colonel and volunteered as a football coach at PRP High School for over 10 years. He had a passion for race cars and enjoyed racing at the old Louisville Motor Speedway.
Ron will be remembered for his dedication, bravery, and love for his family and community. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
A visitation for Ron will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 3 pm until 7 pm at Heady Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, and funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10 at 10 am with entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
