

Ronnie Eugene Gaddis, 68, of Louisville, Kentucky was a talented musician and a loyal friend to many. He was born on July 15, 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky to Ralph and Eugenia Gaddis then was lovingly raised by Eugenia and Fred Smith.
Ron was a singer and a bassist who played with many country music legends, most notably George Jones. He was George's bass player and background vocalist for over 25 years, and also sang duets with him on stage. He was known for his powerful voice and his ability to harmonize with George like no one else. He wrote and recorded his own songs, such as "Chip Off The Old Block", a tribute to George Jones.
Ron loved music and shared his passion with everyone he met. He was a kind and generous man who always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Fred and Eugenia Smith; brothers, Rick Gaddis (Linda), Tony Smith; daughter, Morgan; grandchildren, Preston and Parker.
A Memorial Visitation for Ronnie will be Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 12:00pm to 8:00pm with a special tribute at 3pm, at Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8519 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40219.
