

Roy Warner, 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Born on May 23, 1938, in Springfield, Kentucky, to the late Roy and Elsie Warner, his well-lived life was marked by his commitment to his family and work.
Roy began his career in construction and carpentry, where he built a legacy of craftsmanship. He later transitioned to working with Burns Security, where he served with dedication at Saint Mary and Elizabeth Hospital and then Borden Chemical.
The great love of Roy's life was his beloved wife, Frances Warner of Louisville, Kentucky, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Their enduring bond was the foundation of his happiness and strength. He leaves behind a devoted family, including his wife, Frances Warner, his daughter, Vickie Warner of Louisville, and his son, Billy Roy Warner (Karina) of LaPorte, Indiana.
His grandchildren, Shantelle Dedicke (Greg), Roy Warner (Jodie), and Shannon Melgaard (Evan), and his great-grandchildren, Gregory, Annalise, Alexis, Aubrey, Ethan, Cobi, and Isabella, will forever cherish the memories of their Papaw. His sister, Lela Powell (Everett), and many nieces and nephews also survived him. Roy's extended family includes his step-grandchildren, Brandy and Linda (Stan), and their families.
Roy was a man who embraced life's challenges with strength. His life was a testament to the power of love, family, and dedication, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville KY 40218. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM on Friday, August 16, 2024; Roy will be laid to rest at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven.
