

Lawson, Russell Terry, 85, of Louisville, KY passed away on January 1, 2018. Russell proudly served as a Sgt. in the Army National Guard. He was a Honorable Kentucky Colonel, as well as a member of FOP Lodge 614 Auxiliary, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 5 and an alumni of CPAA. He also was a member of the first graduating class of Eastern High School. Russell retired after 31 years of service with American Airlines. He will best be remembered as a renaissance man with a love of dining out and tinkering in his “man cave”. He was a beloved Dad, Daddy, Pappy, and Unca to everyone he met.
Preceding Russell in death are his parents; William Howard and Mary Emily Lawson, Brother; Willard Ray Lawson, Son; Stephen Douglas Lawson and Grandson; Matthew Steven Johnson.
Left to cherish the memory of Russell is his loving wife of 48 years, Sherilyn. His daughters; Connie Rae Lawson and Karyla Fae Neutz (Perry), Grandchildren; Wesley (Beth), Suzanne (Andrew), Jordan, Jacklynn, Angie (Jorge), Renae (David), Great-Grandchildren; Taylor, Alysia (Ashton), AJ, Audrey, Sydney, Matthew, Eli, Corbin and his great-great grandchild; Asher. His sisters; Joann (Bobby), Mary (Chuck) and sister-in-law; Elaine. Niece; Lisa (Chuck) and great-nieces; Rebecca and Sarah.
Visitation for Russell will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 11:00am – 7:00pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven. A celebration of Russell’s life will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 10:00am at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218.
The family would like to say a special thanks to all the therapist and health care professionals who worked with Russell with the love and compassion that he deserved.
