Samuel Ben Williamson, lovingly known as Ben, passed away on September 9th, 2025. He was born to his father and mother, Minnie Williamson, on February 27th, 1943, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Ben was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Church in Louisville, Kentucky. He retired from Asplundh Tree Company after 46 years of dedicated and admirable service. When he wasn’t working, Ben could be found out working in the garage, mowing the grass, and working in his garden, of which he was so proud. He was a dog-lover, especially his Rottweiler, LouLou. Ben was a kind-hearted man who never met a stranger, and no one had a bad word to say about him. He was not only well known, but well respected, both at work and within his community.
Along with his parents, Ben is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shae Perry.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 39 years, Becky Williamson; his brother, Harold Pool; his sons, Chris Williamson, Tim Williamson, David Richard (Kelly), Allen Richard (Deanna); 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and LouLou, of whom he considered more of a daughter than a pet.
There will never be another one like him.
A visitation for Ben will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky on Monday, September 15th, 2025, from 4:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held in the same place on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, at 12:00pm.
Samuel Ben Williamson will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
