Sharon Lee McGeorge

We gather today to say goodbye to a woman who was more than just a grandmother. She was our “Nanny”! A constant source of love and support. Most knew her by Sharon….we knew her as Nosey Nanny!! She loved her family … each and every one of us! Yet, behind all the chaos and laughter was a woman who loved fiercely and unconditionally. Nanny may have driven us crazy at times, but we always knew she had our backs. Nanny taught us to laugh at ourselves, to find joy and to always, always sing and dance like no one’s watching. Though Nanny has left this world, her legacy of love lives on in each of us. We will miss her warm hugs, her caring advice, and her unconditional love. The most wonderful gift you could ever give is the special part of you that now lives in each of us.

For where roots grow deep, memories grow forever!

Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby McGeorge, a daughter, Deanna Parker, parents, Charles and Magdalene Ward, siblings, Charles Ward, Jon Ward, Waley Ward, Elanor Ward, Joyce Ward, Gerald Ward and Sue Ward.

She is survived by her grandson, Walter William Burgin III and his spouse Chris Burgin, great grandchildren, Haley (Scotty), Mercedes, Victoria, Walter, Mina (Jacob),Arabella, great great grandchildren, EveLynn, Colson, Zyaire and Kianna.

A visitation for Sharon will be held Monday, July 28, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218. Entombment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum.
