

Shirley Ann Cole, 91, of Louisville, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the home of her daughter in Louisville after a long and fulfilling life, rich with adventure, creativity, and love.
She had a deep appreciation for the arts and found joy in sewing and ceramics, often creating beautiful pieces. She took great pride in always being well put together, a reflection of her vibrant personality and self-respect.
She had a passion for travel, always eager to explore new places and experiences, carrying her adventurous spirit wherever she went.
A dedicated member of her local TOPS chapter. She took great pride in her work as a cartographer for the U.S. Census Bureau. Her dedication and precision contributed to an important mission—helping map and understand the nation she loved.
Above all, Shirley’s greatest joy was her family. She loved her children deeply, as well as in the life she built around those she held dear. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love will remain in their hearts forever.
She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her creativity, her elegance, and her devotion to family. She lived fully, loved deeply, and leaves behind a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Thelma Snyder; and her husband, Richard Cole.
Shirley leaves behind her children, Terrie, Denny, Kilene and Keith; as well as a host of grandkids, nieces and nephews.
Cremation was chosen.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Heady - Hardy Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Bethany Memorial Cemetery at a later date, where she will rest alongside her husband, Richard.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heady – Hardy Funeral Home, “Where Personal And Sincere Service Is Tradition.”
