She was born July 26, 1914 in Jefferson County, daughter of the late Mason and Virginia Purvis Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Cravens, a son, Danny Cravens and a daughter, Mary C. Gabbard.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, James Cravens (Charlotte) and Thomas Cravens (Jackie); one daughter, Sissy Cravens; seventeen grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
