Stephanie Helen Browne

On the morning of August 6, 2015 Stephanie passed away at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN surrounded by family.

Stephanie was born in Dayton, OH on May 16, 1959. She was the second child of Thomas M. and Marguerite Kish Smith. Stephanie attended Alter High School and the University of Dayton. While working for the Marriott Corporation in Dayton, OH she met her husband Tim. They spent many happy years raising their family and making new friends while living in Louisville, Marietta, GA, Nashville, TN and Lexington, KY. Stephanie spent many years as a Teacher’s Assistant working with special needs children.

A loving wife, mother, daughter and sister, Stephanie touched the lives of many and will be truly missed. Stephanie will be remembered for her warm heart and the love she held for family and friends. She is a founding member of the “Inner Circle” and a champion of underdogs everywhere. Her final act of kindness was shown through her selfless wish to be an organ and tissue donor, with the stated hope of helping as many people as possible through her passing.

Stephanie is preceded in death by her father Thomas M. Smith. Stephanie is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years Timothy C. Browne and her loving daughters Lauren and Lindsey Browne. Also survived by her mother Marguerite Kish Smith, sisters Jennifer Grimes (J.D.) and Denise Smith (Steve), all of Louisville, KY. Stephanie leaves many cherished nieces and nephews, including Benjamin Grimes, Caleb Grimes, Zachary Smith, Jonathon Runyon, Stephanie Runyon, Mary Elizabeth Johnson, Catherine Runyon, Will Browne, Caroline Browne, Sarah-Katherine McGuire, Caleb McGuire, Margaret Livaudais, Grace Livaudais and great-niece Stella Runyon.

Family and friends may gather for a visitation on Friday, August 14 from 5:30 – 7:30PM at Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd, Louisville, KY 40222. A memorial mass will be held for Stephanie on Saturday, August 15 at 11:00AM at Saint Bernadette Catholic Church, 6500 Saint Bernadette Ave., Prospect, KY 40059.
