Carol,we often think of Steve - especially at race time.We are in Madison,WI for another Ironman remembering how he would follow Daryl's progress and report to Bev. Bib #2784 Sunday Sept.9.We'll be saying a prayer for you both on race day.

My sons, Daryl and Nick, with Lucille's sons, Steve and Mike were not only cousins, but have been playmates, and friends since birth.  They were always compatible, never fought but enjoyed playing, camping, and visiting one another  while growing up.  Steve helped the family leagually, when possible. I too had Mr.Craig as a teacher at St. Rita...I enjoyed watching and listening to him play the guitar with the choir during mass. My family's prayers and thoughts go to his famiy during this time..

Carol, we learned of Steve's passing from Jessica today.  You and Steve's family have our sincerest thoughts and prayers for future strength and peace.  Sarah and I will always remember the great times at Nolin and Steve helping me with my first and last run.  He was and will always be the best friend I ever had.

Carol, I am so sorry to hear of Steve's passing and for your loss.  I have such fond memories of Steve's love for music playing the guitar and the times spent down at the lake.  Please know that you are in my thoughts.  May you find comfort in your memories.

Mr. Craig was one of my teachers at St. Rita in the late 80's.  At one time he had us working on an art project, drawing what we felt when we listened to music selections he had chosen, previously.  "Dust in the Wind" was one of the songs, and because I was too young to pay much attention to the lyrics, I drew a picture of Mr. Craig running in the desert.  To this day, I still think of him when I hear that song.  Funny...he impacted our class in many different ways, but the one thing that brings his memory back to me so quickly was a song.  I pray that the Craig family will soon find peace after their terrible loss.

To Steve's family,

My thoughts and prayers are with you.  Steve was a great teacher and a great person.  I still look in his room, at Ahrens, and hope to see him sitting at his desk, waving and have a smile on his face, as I fill the pepsi machines. He will be deeply missed.

I am so sorry to hear about Steve.  He enriched every life he came in contact with and had the patience of a saint.  I enjoyed working with Steve very much.  My heart goes out to Carol and the family but remember he will always be with you in spirit.

I had the honor of being a student of Mr. Craig's at St. Rita.  He is an awesome teacher and I cherish everything he ever taught me!  My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I had the honor of working with steve for the last three years at Ahrens. Steve and I often shared our stories of our outdoor adventures and sports. Steve was one of the most interesting caring individuals I have ever met. I have nothing but love for Steve.....My condolences go out to Steve's family

I don't know your family, but was in the race on Saturday.  It was my first 5K.  I am 41 years old and new to running.  I just wanted to tell you what an inspiration Steve is to me and my running buddy.  I often felt kind of foolish taking on this endeavor so late in life, but I have a son with autism, so I made this 5K my goal.  After reading about Steve's amazing life, I have decided to keep on going and pursue my ultimate goal of one day running a marathon.  Steve must have been quite a man.
  We checked in for updates on his condition and were saddened for all of you when we read of his passing.  You are in our prayers.  May God bless you.

Carol, Please accept my humble condolences for your loss. Steve was a friend that I could talk with about almost any issue.  He provided much help for me in a time of need. He will be missed by me and those who knew him.  He was an anchor for the STOP Program and always brought a thoughtful perspective to our discussions.

I was fortunate enough to be in Mr. Craig's 7th grade class at St. Rita.  I am 35 now and still think about him from time to time. He was certainly my favorite teacher and I know he impacted so many students the way he impacted me. My prayers are with his family and friends.

I work at the Brown School cafeteria and saw Steve when he would bring the kids up for lunch. He was very good with the kids, we all said that he was a saint for having that job, but he was good at it. He will be greatly missed in our lunch line.

i worked at ahrens before i retired 31/2 years ago. steve and i spoke daily about running, cycling or just to say hello and check in. steve was a strong, quiet presence. i had great respect for him. because of steve the world is a better place. we had an unspoken kinship. he was a very kind man. we will all miss him.
