He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Blackburn.
Survivors include his sister, Ilie Merle Deffendol; nieces, Suzanne Turner, Donna Duncan(Gary), and Annette Cates; nephew, Bruce Cates; sister-in-law, Virginia Cates; special friends and caregivers, Loyd and Janet Harper; and many special friends from Rough River.
Funeral service will be 2pm Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Evergreen Funeral Home with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8pm Wednesday.
Memorial donations can be made to Hardinsburg Nursing Rehab Center.
