At a young age, Leon loved being outside, fishing on Nolin Lake, and hunting in the woods. He met the love of his life,Carolyn in high school, where they fell in love at first sight. They were married for 60 years and have two children together, David Hylton and Tracy Alm (Lance). The children blessed Carolyn and Leon with four grandchildren; Crystal Otter (Brandon), Jade Hylton, Tyler Hylton, and Jackson Alm, and two great-grandchildren, Destiny Hylton and Brenden Otter. Leon was most proud when he became Papaw. He was always ready with a quick joke to make their eyes roll. Leon was a master of many trades, from auto mechanic, heating and air with Kentucky State Parks, and retired from General Electric Company.
Visitation will occur on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 3-8PM with a small service at 6:30pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY 40218.
