

Virginia Violet Dezarn Mumford, 96, of Clarksville, formerly of Louisville, passed away peacefully on the evening of September 7, 2012 at Riverview Village Nursing and Rehab. She was the former Virginia Carey and a native of Seatonville, KY. Virginia retired from the Charlestown Ammunition Power Plant and was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.
Family lovingly remembers Virginia quilting, doing crafts and being an awesome seamstress. She loved to travel, sing and get up and dance at every opportunity. Just spending time with her family made her happy.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Ebinezar and Vina Eldridge Carey; both of her husbands, Frank Dezarn and Miles Mumford, 12 siblings and a granddaughter.
Left cherishing her memory are her children, Violet (Bill) Zorn, Emmett (Claudine), Luther (Donna), Theodore (Edna), and Lloyd (Cindy) Dezarn, Odella Blair and Vina Leslie; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Virginia's Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and also on Wednesday after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
