Walter Gerald Haysley "Duke", 81, returned to the arms of his sweetheart, Suzanne Haysley on January 22, 2021. She preceded him in death by 18 years. Born on July 25, 1939 in Louisville Kentucky to Roy Haysley and Minerva Heinzen Haysley, he grew up in Louisville. He attended Louisville Male High School and his participation in the ROTC program led him to join the Air Force where he studied computer programing. In 1960 he met Sue at a Ninth and O Baptist skating party. He told his friends that she was the girl he was going to marry. On September 17, 1960 they married and began their journey together. Walt "Duke" shared his life with his family and friends. Through the use of cornball jokes, discussions about politics, he never met a stranger. He loved all of his family and enjoyed time spent entertaining them.
He is survived by his daughters, Debra S. Roling (Tim), Terri Lea Haysley; sister, Juanita Workman; brother, George Albert Haysley; sister-in-law, Doris McDaniel; brother-in-law, Raymond Davis; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to William "Junior" Allen, Mike Harper, and Michael John Davis for all that they did to help Walt during the last several years.
