Wanda Mae Howell

Preceding her in death were her parents, Joseph Jesse Ballard and Dorothy Pearl Hargrave; siblings James Hancock Ballard, Rebecca Jane Ballard, and Joseph Jesse Ballard II; three pre-term infant children, Matthew, Martha, and Mark; husband Thomas Richard Howell; granddaughter Shelby Lynn Johnson; and beloved cat Whiskers.

Surviving family members include her daughter Michelle DeWitt Johnson (Bobby R. Johnson, Jr.); grandchildren Elizabeth Ann Chaddic (Mark Anthony Pierce), Cody Micheal Johnson (Tatum Skye Noel), and Jace Daniel DeWitt; great-grandchildren Zakota Lane Johnson, Miles Anthony Pierce, and Skye Lynn Johnson; and grand-dog Dexter Morgan.

Wanda was a devoted member of Eastern Parkway Baptist Church and previously attended Ninth & O Baptist Church, Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and Saint Ignatius Catholic Church. She retired as an insurance agent from Western & Southern and was also a former bookkeeper and tax preparer.

Wanda's greatest legacy was her unwavering kindness, generosity, and loyalty to those she loved. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A visitation for Wanda will be held Monday, July 29, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218.
