Wilda Ruth Phillips, 82, of Louisville passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016. She is now resting peacefully with her parents and all her siblings, her husband, Charles Hamilton Phillips, and their daughter, Rosalie Phillips.
Wilda is survived by her children, Deborah Rae Wade, Jerri Jean Caspillo, Wilda Sue Sanders (Bill), Charles Michael Phillips (Diana), Patrick Hamilton Phillips (Tricia), and Timothy Jay Phillips. She is also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Wilda was an active member at Trinity World Outreach Center and enjoyed making sandwiches and pineapple-upside-down cake for the "Even-So's" at River City Love Squad.
Wilda was known best for her wonderful care of her family, lovingly caring for everyone around her. She loved laughter, engaging in conversation, board games, crosswords, great foods, and more CSIs than you can shake a stick at.
She read everything, from Genesis (KJV) to 50 Shades of Grey. The walls of her home are lined with more books than a library, as well as family photos and the art works of her children.
Wilda considered her family her Great Work. Her children and grandchildren are her living legacy. She was fiercely proud of her family, each of her children, gifted, talented, good and kind. She remains the guiding influence in the best qualities of all of her children.
Wise beyond measure, she remains our hero, friend, confidante and advocate. We will always love you, Mom.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 2pm. It will be held in Fireside Room of the Buckson Life Center at Trinity World Outreach Center, 10307 Seatonville Rd, Louisville, KY 40291.
To honor Wilda’s compassionate and giving spirit, the family request that in lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 8920 Stone Green Way, Suite 100, Louisville, KY 40220, or to the charity of your choice.
Arrangements under the direction of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, Louisville, KY.
